Yearbook Words 2025

As I sit down to write this message, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve shared this year. Each of you has contributed to the vibrant tapestry of our school community, and I am deeply proud of the growth, resilience, and creativity I’ve witnessed. I hope that this year’s theme, “Our best today; even better tomorrow,” has served as a guide, reminding us to strive for excellence in the present while always looking forward to the possibilities of the future.

Recently, I came across a commencement address by Roger Federer, one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He shared a piece of advice that resonated deeply with me, and I believe it holds profound relevance for all of you. Federer spoke about the importance of taking each point seriously—giving it your full focus, energy, and effort. But once the point is over, he said, you must leave it in the past. Whether you won or lost, the key is to move forward, fully present in the next moment. This, he explained, is how you stay grounded, focused, and ready to give your best in the here and now.

As I thought about Federer’s words, I realized how perfectly they align with our theme. Life, much like a tennis match, is a series of moments—some triumphant, some challenging, all valuable. This year, you’ve faced your share of points: exams, projects, performances, games, and countless other opportunities to learn and grow. Some moments brought you joy and success; others may have tested your resilience. But what matters most is not the outcome of any single point—it’s how you choose to move forward, how you bring your best to the next moment, and how you continue to grow.

Federer’s advice to take each point seriously is a reminder to be fully present in whatever you do. Be intentional. Be curious. Be kind. These small, focused efforts add up to something extraordinary over time. This year, I’ve seen so many of you embody this mindset—whether it was through your academic achievements, your artistic expressions, your athletic performances, or your acts of kindness and leadership. You’ve shown that giving your best today is not about perfection; it’s about effort, growth, and heart.

Of course, not every moment will go as planned. There will be points you lose, challenges you face, and setbacks that feel discouraging. But as Federer reminds us, the key is to leave those moments in the past. Don’t let a single point define you. Instead, reflect on what you’ve learned, and use those lessons to strengthen your next move. Some of the most powerful growth happens when we face adversity, and I’ve seen so many of you turn challenges into opportunities this year. You’ve shown resilience, adaptability, and courage—qualities that will serve you well in the years to come.

While it’s important to give your best today, it’s equally important to keep your eyes on the horizon. The future is full of possibilities, and each of you has the potential to achieve incredible things. As you move forward, remember that growth is a journey, not a destination. The skills you’ve developed, the relationships you’ve built, and the lessons you’ve learned this year are the foundation for an even brighter tomorrow. Keep dreaming big. Keep setting goals that inspire you. And most importantly, keep believing in your ability to make a difference.

Before I close, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude. To our graduating seniors: thank you for the legacy you’ve left at our school. Your leadership, creativity, and spirit have made a lasting impact, and I can’t wait to see where your journeys take you. To our returning students: thank you for your energy, your curiosity, and your commitment to growth. You are the heartbeat of our school, and I’m excited to see how you’ll continue to shine in the years ahead. And to our incredible faculty and staff: thank you for your dedication, your passion, and your unwavering belief in our students.

As you flip through the pages of this yearbook, I hope you’ll take a moment to celebrate how far you’ve come. Each photo, each memory, represents a point in your journey—a moment where you gave your best. And as you look ahead, I hope you’ll carry Federer’s wisdom with you: take each point seriously, but don’t dwell on the past. Stay present. Stay focused. And always strive to be your best today, knowing that tomorrow holds even greater potential.
